Universal Systems Inc. (USI) has emerged in 2007 with an Exclusive World Wide licensing agreement to provide slop oil and processed wastewater treatment services to the oil industry. Our company's mission is to become the leader in the development and delivery of cost effective slop oil and processed wastewater treatment. USI has joined together with Powell Water Systems. Inc. (PWS) and Water Solutions, LLC (WS) to bring PWS's patented electrocoagulation technology to the oil industry, making large flow waste oil, and water treatment efficient and cost effective.
More recently, USI has discovered the immediate need to become involved in building, owning, and operating central produced water processing facilities. This service is widely needed wherever natural gas is produced; the diminished capacity to handle processed water from natural gas production is causing some production wells to be shut in until alternative-treating plants can be brought on line. As tougher water discharge regulations are being imposed, the need is becoming even greater.
The oil production and refining industry consistently deals with mixtures of production water and oil. The water and oil mixture will not separate naturally unless an emulsion is created. The pumping and processing of the oil and water mixture can create an emulsion that requires special treatment. The need to break the oil/water emulsion provides an opportunity for USI to provide a service to the oil industry. Oil and water reclamation can improve the environment, provide additional oil for use in the current oil shortage, and reclaim water suitable for reuse. With crude oil prices at all time highs, and water shortages in the west due to severe drought, the time is right to start a profitable oil industry service company.
Our process is not only a most effective process for treating the first-stage "produced slop oil" but it can also treat the "slop-oil waste" that comes about as a result of failed slop oil treatment and other waste oils from around the refinery. We can handle both of these substances on a high-flow rate, continuous-run production basis and deliver back oil with less than 1% water, water with less than 1% oil plus a much more ecologically friendly sludge that can be disposed in an ordinary landfill versus having to use a toxic landfill, which is not good for the environment, which can also contain the potential of future liability, and which is much more expensive than conventional landfill disposal.
USI intends to target specific markets; such as Oil Refinery waste water, Processed water from natural gas wells, slop oil treatment, and drilling rig oil water treatment. USI, along with Water Solutions, will take the PWS technology, and combine it with proprietary chemical treatment to make slop oil separable on a flow through basis, making large flow oil, and water treatment possible, and cost effective. The PWS has implemented this process in, and outside the United States with excellent results.
